This is Jeff, Roberta and Cambria Cremeans doing what they love, spending time together as a family on an off road adventure. Jeff and Roberta are from Santee CA and have been married for nine years. Daughter Cambria is five years old.

GBC Motorsports Donating Tires for Eichner Family Fundraiser at WORCS Primm

GBC Motorsports is donating a set of X-Rex tires to the Eichner Family Fundraiser at the Primm, NV round of WORCS ATV racing this weekend, February 10-12.
Dylan Dixon will look to improve on his 5th place position in the Pro-Am Production class.

Anaheim, Calif. - February 9, 2012 - GBC Motorsports is proud to announce that they will be donating a set of their X-Rex tires for the Eichner Family Fundraiser, taking place at Round 2 of the WORCS ATV series in Primm, Nevada this weekend.

The Eichner family is working with WORCS to help raise money for Joan Eichner, wife of ATV racing legend Doug Eichner. Joan has been battling cancer over the past few years and the family is looking to the WORCS community and the ATV racing community as a whole for support. There will be a booth set up with special t-shirts for sale and they will also be accepting donations. Additionally, the fundraiser will be auctioning off donated items, including GBC’s X-Rex tires and autographed jerseys from WORCS pros. Endure and persevere victory is crossing the finish line! YOU MUST USE A STOCK TANK, NO QUICK FILLS. To enter you must have participated in one of this year's A Day in the Dirt 2011 races.1-1/2 to 2 hour GP

The Ironman
To become an Ironman you must compete in and FINISH five (5) events: the Vintage GP, Stunt GP, Moto-A-Gogo GP, the Coup de Grace, and your choice of one of the following: the Film Industry GP, Vet GP, Senior Vet GP, or the Open GP.

Dirt Riot Endurance Racing Successful in 2011, Leads into 18 Events in 2012

In its first season ever, the Dirt Riot events were met with outstanding response. 4x4 Endurance Racing on 4 to 10 mile spectator friendly courses for a set 1 to 3 hours has multiple classes from Unlimited4 to Stock Trail class and a UTV class. “The drivers that came out and tried the racing had nothing but positive comments about the format and participating in the future,” said Rich Klein, Dirt Riot and 11 year W.E.

Rock promoter. “We are really excited about the steps being made for next years season and the commitment to take this style racing into 18 different markets across the US and Internationally which is sure to make for an amazing year in off-road racing.”

Unlimited class

The three races held in 2011 had great success. The very first race, at Coppermines OHV Park in Altus, Oklahoma, had eleven racers to attempt the course and the concept. Derek West took the win with Levi Shirley in second and Brian Shirley in third. The second race at RAM Off-Road Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado, ramped up with 16 Unlimited4 drivers, seven trail class and three UTV’s. At the end of three hours, Levi Shirley took the win with Loren Healy in second and Derek West took third. The third and final race of the 2011 start up season was back at Coppermines OHV Park in Altus, Oklahoma, where the field grew to 21 Unlimited4 drivers, five trail class and three UTV’s. Brian Shirley took the win with son Levi Shirley taking second and Loren Healy in third.

Dirt Riot Trail Class

"Having both Levi and I being one and two on the podium has always been a goal of mine,” said driver and winner of the 3^rd race Brain Shirley. “We can't wait to run the Dirt Riot series in 2012. We really like the shorter laps and I think the 10 mile or less lap format will make it easier for the spectators and fans to catch the drivers at several obstacles during the race. The three hour time frame gives us plenty of laps to get faster each lap and try different lines. I really hope other teams take a look at this series for 2012”.

UTV class

In 2012 the Dirt Riot series will be composed of 16 US and 2 International locations. Three races per series: Pacific, Southwest, Mountain, Central and Great Lakes. There will be a Series Season Points Title and an Overall Points Title for the team that scores the most points. There is no limit to the number of races a team can run. There will be a year end National Dirt Riot Rampage event to conclude the season. In 2012, Dirt Riot will be using the class rules for the Ultra4 4400, 4500 and 4600 as established by Hammerking Productions, in addition to trail classes and a UTV class which will increase the participation from the local market and of pit crews and family members. The courses are specifically built to be spectator and family friendly.

In Memory: Sarah Rapue 1990 - 2011

Sarah Rae Rapue was granted her angel wings on August 28, 2011 when a car accident claimed her life.

Sarah was born on May 5, 1990 in San Diego, California to Raymond Rapue and Rhonda Rapue. Her father is a retired Fire Captain with CalFire and her mother works for the Julian School District. She had four older siblings, her sisters, Tiffany and Rene, and her brothers, Isaac and Ray. Her family liked to call her “the knot to their family.” Neither age differences nor location distances mattered and in Sarah’s eyes, they were family no matter what and she was determined to keep their connections strong.

Ever since Sarah was 5 years old, her family had been planning annual trips to the desert. It was tradition to spend every Thanksgiving with her family in the desert. Her dad’s smoked turkey and her cousin Phyllis’ sweet yams were her favorite. To top off the night, family story time around the campfire filled her with laughter. The desert life was in Sarah’s blood, she wasn’t afraid to ride a quad and she wasn’t grossed out by a little sand in her shoes-- she lived for those moments.

Sarah attended Julian High School, where she met her boyfriend of 4 years, John. She graduated in 2008 with a varsity letter in cheerleading. She was always spontaneous and lived by the phrase “You can take the girl out of the mountains, but you can never take the mountains out of the girl.”

“Sarah you were such a sweetheart and a beautiful girl inside and out I will miss your outgoing, fun personality” says her friend Kristin. She loved to watch the firework shows on 4^th of July, enjoyed family trips to the river in Yuma, Arizona and walks along the beaches of city she was proud to live in, San Diego.

In 2010, Sarah was hired to work with Spirit Halloween as a sales associate. As she describes on her Facebook, it was the “Best job ever!” Every year she looked forward to Halloween; the decorations, the pumpkin pie, dressing up in costumes, and putting on makeup and glitter -- it all reminded her of being a little kid again. Sarah was always a child at heart, just like her cousin LeeLee. Even as a 21-year-old, she loved to watch Disney’s movies and shows, and never left the house without a container of Play Dough in her purse. Before she passed away, she and her sister, Rene, were planning a family trip to Disneyland to see the theme park’s Halloween decorations.

Being raised in the mountain town of Julian, Sarah loved to play in the snow, drink hot chocolate and eat their well-known Julian Apple Pies. Her friend Amy says, “She couldn't wait for this weather. Sarah used to say, ‘I can just put on some jeans, my Uggs and a sweater. I don't have to try to look cute.’” Sarah knew that the true meaning of Christmas wasn’t about receiving presents, it was about celebrating Christ’s birth, and she was just thankful that she got to spend it with her family.

From an early age, Sarah was never shy to express her love for animals. She never lived a day of her life without an animal by her side. As a child, she loved to go horseback riding and play with her dog Rowdy. Sarah always had a warm heart to welcome a new pet to the family, no matter how many other pets she already had. Her mother remembers a time when Sarah found an abandoned box full of kittens on the street. Sarah took them home without hesitation and properly nursed them herself. She also worked as a dog groomer for Pets Mart and was going to school studying animal behavior to become a Veterinary Technician.

Sarah said, “My favorite colors are zebra print and hot pink.” She loved to watch Twilight, Disney’s Hannah Montana, and MTV’s Teen Mom and Teen Wolf. Sarah’s favorite phrase, “Do you suppose she’s a wildflower?” comes from her favorite movie Alice in Wonderland. Her favorite foods were Jack in the Box tacos, her Uncle Eddie’s carne asada tacos, and Hometown Buffet’s macaroni and cheese.

Sarah had a heart of gold, an unforgettable laugh, beautiful long brown hair, a smile that could light up a town, and gorgeous green eyes with a soul to match. She loved the Lord; her siblings and grandma saved her a seat at church the morning of the accident, before receiving the news that she passed away. Sarah’s little cousin Braiden says “Sarah is dancing with Jesus!” and if you ask her little niece, Nevaeh, where is her Auntie Sarah, she will reply, “She’s in Heaven!” Her friend Amy wrote on her Facebook: “Save a spot for me, I want to live right next to you and I'm sure you'll have some stories to tell me about your time in Heaven.” Sarah’s cousin Abby also wrote “Sarah, you are starting so many relationships with Christ! We all want to be where you are someday, however far away.”

Sarah had posted on her Facebook account her favorite Bible verse: “Therefore I will look to the lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Micah- 7:7”

We as a family believe that God did hear Sarah’s prayers. Being with family and friends was the most important part of her life and she wished nothing but the best for everyone. Her cousin Adi says, “Sarah, you were more than just a cousin to me, you were my friend, my go to girl for anything, and my angel.” Sarah had the ability to bring everyone together and touch all of us in some small way throughout her short, yet very memorable life. “The whole family has really reconnected with each other, and with God. I think we make the biggest effort because we all want to ensure we will see you again” says her sister Rene. Sarah’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

Sarah’s mother says, “I am so blessed to be her mother, she brought so much joy to my life. I look forward to the one day my beloved daughter will welcome me to the gates of Heaven with arms wide open saying ‘Mom, I told you not to worry.’”

There is no doubt Sarah was an angel sent down from heaven to bless the people who knew her and to give us that twinkle in our eyes that we can carry forever. “At least I have an amazing angel watching over my shoulder every second of the day” says her friend Caitlin. God needed Sarah back. Her work on earth was done. We are motivated by all of Sarah’s inspirations, including one of the lasts things she posted on her Facebook, “Live in the moment. Do your best and forget about what you can't control. All will work out fine if you let go of the negative energy.”

As we celebrate her life, we’re grateful that God sent Sarah to us. We are a family of faith and love and we know in the deepest part of our hearts that Sarah is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

World’s Top Supercross and Motocross Riders Square off for a Shot at $1 Million

AURORA, Ill. – Five days remain until the gates drop at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium for the highly anticipated Monster Energy Cup. This stand-alone race offers a purse of a quarter-of-a-million dollars and a potential $1 million bonus.

The world’s top supercross and motocross racers will square off in three ten-lap main events in this one-of-a-kind race that posts a $250,000 purse, awarding the winner with a $100,000 check, and for the “first time ever” a shot at $1 million to the rider who wins all three main events.

“I am looking forward to competing in the Monster Energy Cup,” said Ryan Villopoto. “With three main events and a million bucks on the line, we are going to have some great racing.”

Ricky Carmichael, the all-time greatest motocross racer, and Jeremy McGrath, the all-time greatest supercross racer, teamed up to produce the historic hybrid track design, which blends elements from both supercross and motocross. The final product will incorporate iconic elements including, for the first-time ever at Sam Boyd Stadium, a portion of the track that will send riders into the stands. A 100’ double set on the outside part of the track and a 200’ lane stacked with two-foot sand rollers will also defy the world’s top racers.

“Carmichael and McGrath are two of the best riders the sport has ever seen, and it will be fun to ride a track that they design,” said supercross veteran Kevin Windham.

“This is one of the most diverse race tracks ever assembled,” said Dave Prater, director of the Monster Energy Cup, Feld Motor Sports. “The track itself will be developed for an open-class displacement concept. We will create obstacles, corners, and the start straight to help the 250cc machines compete against the 450cc machines, which will in turn level the playing field. ”

The elimination of nearly all technical restrictions, with the exception of sound and fuel regulations, will allow riders and teams the opportunity to develop and test new technology during race conditions without being restricted by the current AMA Supercross rulebook.

“As a singular race, the Monster Energy Cup gives us more freedom to think outside the box and try some innovative concepts that might not always be practical for a national championship,” AMA Director of Supercross Kevin Crowther. “Between this rules package and the amount of money on the line, the Monster Energy Cup will be one of racing’s must-attend events this year.”

Built into a day of diverse racing action, the world’s most tactical freestyle motocross riders will square off in a one-trick, “go big or go home” Best Trick freestyle competition for a shot at $40,000. The contest will feature Todd Potter, Jackson Strong, Mark Monea, Kyle Loza, and Cam Sinclair. These elite freestyle motocross riders will push the limits as they make every best effort to take home the attractive purse.

The Monster Energy Cup will also host the nation’s top amateur racers in two-separate divisional races classified as the Super-Mini class and the Amateur All-Star class, respectively. The top finishes from the Super-Mini class (12-15 years old) and 250 A and 250 B modified classes from the AMA Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championships will make up the starting grid for these special events.

SPEED™ TV will broadcast the inaugural Monster Energy Cup live on October 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET. The lead into the live Monster Energy Cup coverage will be a one-hour season recap of 2011 Supercross – The Greatest Season Ever beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET. SPEED will deliver a total of 3.5 hours of live television coverage to the fans at home.

2011 Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame inductees include off-road racers Ron D. Bishop and Rob MacCachren:

· Ron Bishop is special kind of off-road racer whose consistent winning record is eclipsed by his dedication to the sport and by his passion for bettering the sport and improving its safety. Bishop is the only motorcycle racer to have entered in every Baja 1000 since the race’s inception in 1967, allowing him to recognize the need for better lighting for motorcycles competing against the larger four-wheeled vehicles with monster lighting systems. In addition to racing in Baja, he also competed and earned medals in the International Six Day Trials qualifiers and was recognized by the American Motorcyclist Association as an inductee to their Hall of Fame.

· Rob MacCachren has raced in and won virtually every kind of off-road racing series during his career that has spanned the past three decades. Whether it is desert racing in the U.S. or Baja, stadium racing, or short course racing, MacCachren has raced it and won in it. No other racer has ever enjoyed the level of success he has had in so many different vehicles and so many different series. It was MacCachren’s role as an ambassador to the sport that convinced the committee he was truly worthy of the induction. His media savvy and availability have gotten him named to the All American Writers and Broadcasting Association’s first and second teams on multiple occasions. He has also been named as Dirt Sports Magazine Driver of the Year (2007), BF Goodrich’s Motorsports Person of the Year (2007) and SCORE Person of the Year twice (1987, 2008).

ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools Team LeDuc Racing On Fire At Speedworld

The last time the LeDuc team visited Speedworld the course was not kind to them, particularly the brutal stutter bumps. While the latest weekend of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) was not free of carnage for the LeDucs, they were rewarded for their never-say-die attitude. Fans braved triple digit temperatures to see Kyle LeDuc qualify first on Friday, with his father Curt qualifying fifth in the No. 43 Makita Tools / Truxxx Lift and Level Ford. Todd LeDuc tossed a driveshaft in practice, which forced him to start at the back of the pack for Saturday’s main event.

Meanwhile Kyle grenaded the high strung four cylinder engine in the No. 99 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools / Toyo Tire Pro Lite Unlimited truck in practice on Friday, and then the replacement engine let go during Saturday’s race. “A crate V8 engine would be more cost effective,” Kyle conceded, “but until they are mandatory I am not convinced that they can be competitive with the four cylinders. I don’t race to finish, I race to win.” Kyle’s words proved to be prophetic when the Pro4 Unlimited took the field for Saturday’s race.

When the green flag dropped Kyle quickly leapt into second place behind Adrian Cenni. On the third lap Kyle dove inside of Cenni on Turn 4 and put his ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools F150 into the lead. Any racer worth his salt will tell you that the longest race is one that he is winning, and the checkered flag could come out soon enough. Even after Kyle’s sizeable lead was cut down by the mandatory caution, he was able to rebuild a several truck cushion ahead of second place on his way to his third victory of the season. Curt LeDuc’s Pro4 Unlimited race was much shorter; it came to an early end after his driveshaft parted ways with his truck. Todd LeDuc solved his own driveline issue from practice, but his No. 4 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools Ford had no body panels left when he crossed the finish line in fifth place! You would have th ought there was a bull’s eye on the back of Todd’s No.4 truck during Saturday’s race after all the contact he received.

The Makita power tools were buzzing in the LeDucs’ pits as the sun set on Saturday night in preparation for another day of racing. Out of four cylinder engines, Kyle parked his recently completed Pro Lite Unlimited and the team focused their energy on repairing the three Pro4 Unlimited Fords. Todd’s truck in particular received plenty of attention, since he was scheduled to start on the pole on Sunday. When the race started Todd held off all comers and ran clean through the first nine laps of the race. Meanwhile Kyle was slicing and dicing through the competition to move forward in the pack whenever the opportunity presented itself. With limited places to pass, both Kyle and Curt had to be patient and wait for opportunities instead of forcing them. By the competition yellow, the ‘Duc boys were running first and second in their RO CKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools Fords.

Blood might be thicker than water, but dirt is thicker than blood, and Kyle wasn’t about to just hand the race over to his big bro. When Todd bicycled through the rutted Turn 2, Kyle went low and slipped into the lead. With the entire field bunched up after the competition yellow, Todd saw his lead evaporate and had to work his way back through the pack. Then the action really heated up… when Curt LeDuc’s Makita Tools / Truxxx Lift and Level Ford caught fire in front of the grandstands as he passed Greg Adler who was behind the wheel of Travis Coyne's No. 5 Pro 4 Unlimited for the second time this season. The fire brought out the red flag, which ended Curt’s day but allowed Todd to be the ben efactor of the bunched up field. Only two laps remained, leaving Todd little time to work. While Kyle opened the gap between himself and second place Carl Renezeder, Todd managed to pick off all but the top two trucks in the final laps to land himself on the podium next to his brother, racking up even more hardware for the ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools team. Kyle’s back-to-back victories give him a huge bump in season points as he makes a push towards the series championship with three races remaining.

FOX Captures its 10th Straight SCORE Desert Series Trophy Truck Victory with Rob MacCachren's San Felipe Challenge of Champions Win

FOX's Cactus Cooler equipped bypass suspension — utilizing their unique external cooling system — proved itself to be the competitive advantage in extreme temperatures and terrain.

Santee, CA– FOX, the industry-leading ride dynamics company, has extended its SCORE Desert Series trophy truck win streak to 10 with Rob MacCachren's win at the San Felipe Challenge of Champions. Despite the extreme temperatures that had some drivers contemplating a slower pace, FOX sponsored driver, Rob MacCachren, roared away from the green flag and never looked back.Typically, the SCORE Desert Series hosts an annual San Felipe 250 race in March when temperatures are milder. However, this year a second race in San Felipe took place because of complications at the Primm course, originally slated to host the fourth stop in the series.

San Felipe is tough enough in the Spring, but paled to the extreme conditions of running it in Summer; temperatures reached north of 105 degrees with up to 50% humidity. The course itself also features some of the most extreme conditions; the start to Borrego is a 60-mile section of bumps that have set the bar for suspension development teams.

While MacCachren’s Baja experience, talent, and finesse have earned him championships and victories over his last 28 years of desert racing, it’s the equipment that tends to hold Rob back from holding it wide open. Not anymore. MacCachren rallied his JIMCO #20 trophy truck from the beginning and by race mile 208, he had a nearly 15 minute physical lead over the nearest competitor. Blasting through 252 miles of desolate rocky earth, MacCachren was unchallenged to the checkered flag.

Averaging 59.94 miles per hour and finishing the course in 4 hours, 12 minutes, and 21 seconds earned Rob MacCachren his second SCORE San Felipe title in the same season. The winning time was actually 5 minutes and 24 seconds faster than his win earlier this year when he was not running the Cactus Cooler.

“The pace this morning was really quick and the truck was working great at the start. It just felt so good. The biggest difference between this race and the one we won here in March is that the shocks have made such a big improvement. We just keep working on the shocks and making them better and better," said Rob MacCachren. "The track here in San Felipe gets rougher the more we go over it so it’s all about the suspension system.”

"We have been continually testing and improving the external cooling system technology," said offroad race manger, Todd Tenbroek. "With these improvements, we were able to drop the shock oil temperature by an additional 145 degrees over the last race even with the ambient temperature being 30 degrees higher."

Can ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren Repeat His Sweep At Speedworld this weekend?

This year has been a rollercoaster ride for ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren. Injuries, mechanical breakage, and penalties have conspired to thwart Rob Mac’s typical dominance in the desert and on short course tracks across the country. During the last Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) event at Glen Helen Raceway a rare loss of control saw Rob’s No. 1 ROCKSTAR Energy / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety truck on its roof, resulting in a fractured clavicle that caused severe pain and limited use of his left arm. Not good for a man who makes his living racing professionally nearly every weekend of the year in three different series.

Last week in Traxxas’ The Off Road Championship (TORC) MacCachren suffered a rollover in his RAM Pro 2WD truck on Wednesday and was taken out of race early on Thursday after qualifying first. The poor results pushed MacCachren back to fourth in season points. Most competitors would be thrilled to be fourth in points in TORC’s premier class, but MacCachren set the bar high by winning the first three races of the season in dominating fashion.

If you only remember one thing about Rob MacCachren, remember that he never, ever gives up. Despite his injury MacCachren recently overalled the SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions, racing in oppressive heat across the most brutal terrain in Baja and beating the next closest competitor by an unbelievable nine minutes. The Fox Racing Shocks on MacCachren’s No. 20 Jimco Trophy Truck made all the difference on the notorious whoops of Zoo Road, and they are just as important on his ROCKSTAR Energy / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety short course truck running over the stutter bumps in Arizona. Although MacCachren’s LOORRS season got off to a slow start during the first two rounds of racing, he came into Speedworld for Rounds 3 and 4 and absolutely dominated, setting not only fast times in qualifying but winning both rounds of racin g. Speedworld hosts LOORRS racing once again this weekend, and could quite possibly be the location where MacCachren hosts another driving clinic for the Pro2 Unlimited competition. He currently sits in fourth place in season points with five races remaining.

TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH — This weekend, September 24-25, Miller Motorsports Park is providing fans with an interesting and diverse lineup to enjoy.

On Saturday and Sunday the Eastern and Western divisions of the World Extreme Rock Crawling Championship (W.E.ROCK) will come together at MMP’s unique rock-crawling facility to determine their National Champions. Four different classes of vehicles will seemingly defy the laws of gravity as they attack the treacherous man-made terrain in the seven-acre facility to battle for championship honors.

The W.E.ROCK event will get underway at 10:00 a.m. both days and will end at approximately 4:00 p.m. each afternoon.

Also on Saturday and Sunday, the Intermountain Region of the Porsche Club of America will make their annual visit to Miller Motorsports Park. They will conduct club races and driver-education sessions on both days. A one-hour endurance race will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and sprint races will take place on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:50 p.m.

In addition, Round 9 of Miller Motorsports Park’s 10-round Quarter-Midget championship will take place on the 0.2-mile oval course at the Miller Kart Track on Saturday morning.

Access to the Porsche Club of America and MMP Quarter-Midget events are free to everyone. W.E.ROCK tickets are priced at $15 per day or $25 for the weekend for adults. Tickets for kids aged 8-12 are priced at $5 per day. Kids aged 7 and under are admitted free of charge.

Walker Evans Racing, From TORC to LOORRS

Riverside, CA - Walker Evans Racing headed to Chicago's Chicagoland/Route 66 oval track with the same goal that they carry with them to each and every race. The goal to WIN! Not only would they meet that goal, they would meet that goal back to back finishing the weekend with a sweep in the Pro-Lite class moving RJ and team into 2nd in points!

RJ Anderson has been quickly finding his groove in his first season behind the wheel of the Walker Evans Racing / RAM Pro-Lite. After a very up and down start to the season it is apparent that Anderson along with the Walker Evans Racing team has figured out how to get this truck set up the way RJ likes it best. Months of tuning, tire grooving, and suspension set up has culminated in the best weekend of racing the young 18 year old driver has ever had in his first season of professional racing at the TORC Racing Series.

While the season has been ever evolving for the Walker Evans Racing / RAM Pro-Lite one thing has remained the same... The Weather! Despite traveling from track to track it seems the rain continues to follow and it followed the TORC series to Chicagoland. Because of this teams are really figuring out what works best on these wet and sloppy tracks and the same can be said about the Walker Evans Team. Traction is key and the team is finding the groove patterns that work best for their Goodyear tires. Keeping the power to the ground is crucial and in this round of racing just keeping the rubber side down would be a challenge. Some of the most spectacular wrecks of the season would occur in this round of Pro-Lite racing. Luckily RJ would keep his truck clean and free of any major collisions.

After qualifying 2nd, less than a .10 of a second behind fellow Pro-Lite young gun CJ Greaves, RJ and team knew they had the set up needed to compete at the level required to take home a win. Wednesday's evening start would make for one of the most exciting nights of racing ever seen in the Pro-Lite class. Early on in the race during lap 2, Pro-Lite points leader Andrew Caddell would send his truck flipping end over end cartwheel style in one of the gnarliest looking wrecks seen all year. He would land and continue on to battle his way back up to give RJ Anderson a run for the checkered flag. Soon after Caddell's flip defending Pro-Lite champion Casey Currie would go for a ride as his truck would get air born in another violent end over end roll forcing a red flag restart. At the red flag restart RJ would find himself in 2nd position right behind CJ Greaves, son of off-road racing star Johnny Greaves. RJ and CJ would battle all the way with RJ making his way around CJ going into the competition yellow. As the green flag dropped RJ and his Walker Evans Racing / RAM Pro-Lite would hold onto the top position. Andrew Caddell would battle back from his early wreck and get around CJ Greaves to move into second. Caddell would then put the pressure on RJ but he couldn't do enough to shake him! RJ Anderson despite a total of 5 major wrecks in the race would hold on for a BIG win in Chicago!

Thursday's race would be more of the same for the Walker Evans Racing / RAM Pro-Lite. RJ would hold off hard charging Keegan Kincaid for his second win of the weekend and his first back to back weekend of his TORC career. RJ and his team couldn't be any more happy with their performance but they know there is still a lot of racing left to get RJ in position to win a championship in his rookie year.

"I am just so stoked to get these wins. It has been a big learning experience for me this year. There is a ton of talent racing in this class which leaves me very little room for error. If you make a mistake someone is going to be right there to capitalize on it so I have been working really hard on remaining consistent while making sure I fight hard to hold my position. Nothing motivates me more than knowing if I mess up someone is going to pass me and I hate seeing someone pass me! With that said I really owe the wins to my dad and my entire team at Walker Evans Racing. I can't say enough about how hard these guys work to give me a truck that I can go out and compete at a high level with. My dad (Randy Anderson) and Walker (Walker Evans) are always right there offering up advice and making sure I have the tools needed to do work! Glen Helen’s WORCS course will pit racers against a tough mix of difficult terrain and challenging hills to determine who is truly the best off road racer.

KTM’s Kurt Caselli currently leads the series with 314 points after taking the win at round 7 at Washougal MX Park in Washington, but Kawasaki mounted Taylor Robert sits just behind him with 276 points.     LOS ANGELES—With all of the many other desert races seeming to serve as a prelude each year, motorsports enthusiasts from around the world are now turning their collective focus to the granddaddy of all desert races, the legendary SCORE Baja 1000. This year’s internationally-televised 44th anniversary celebration will be a large loop race starting and finishing in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico as race week festivities will run from Nov. 16-20.
     With the season-finale of the five-race 2011 SCORE Desert Series starting on Friday, Nov. 18, official entry forms will be available online starting Monday on the SCORE website at www.score-international.com. Entries from over 30 US States and 15 countries are expected to take the green flag in November, competing in 35 Pro and six Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs.
     The official course map for the 2011 will be released publically by SCORE CEO/President Sal Fish on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Off-Road Expo in Pomona, Calif. The computerized drawing, by class, for starting positions, will be held in the SCORE headquarters in Los Angeles on Saturday, Oct. 15.
     “The SCORE Baja 1000 is our flagship event and although it takes more work to produce than the entire rest of our SCORE Desert Series, it is the ‘Super Bowl’ of our sport and we are privileged to be caretakers of such an amazing motorsports treasure,” commented Fish, who has been leading SCORE since soon after it was founded in 1973. “Each year provides another magnificent chapter in the never-ending story of the fabled SCORE Baja 1000 and this year will add yet another dimension to the legend of this memorable event held on the northern part of Mexico’s majestic Baja California peninsula.”
     It’s the oldest and most well known of all desert races, and it remains as the single most appealing accomplishment to a driver. Since 1967, the mother of all desert races has been run over the mysterious Baja California peninsula every year except 1974 when the international fuel crisis forced a cancellation.
     The SCORE Baja 1000 has captured the imagination of the entire world as entries have come not only from every state in the United States and the District of Columbia, but also has attracted racers from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, England, Finland, France, Germany, Guam, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Panama, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, Yugoslavia as well as the host country of Mexico.
      The first known record run occurred in 1962. Dave Ekins and Bill Robertson Jr. timed their trip from Tijuana to La Paz on a pair of Honda 250 motorcycles. Ekins made it in 39 hours, 54 minutes, Robertson in less than an hour slower. There were no official timers, of course, and to establish that they had made the trip, the two motorcycle racers time-stamped a sheet of paper in the Tijuana telegraph office and time-stamped it again at the telegraph office when they arrived in La Paz.
     On the eve of the 44th anniversary of this motorsports adventure, Ensenada Mayor Enrique Pelayo expressed the thoughts of his city regarding the race, saying, "As Mayor of Ensenada, I want to tell you how excited we are and to personally welcome everyone to our city as well as to congratulate those that will be part of this year's 44th SCORE Baja 1000. Sal Fish and SCORE desert racing are part of the foundation of our city and a vital part of our culture and our economy. We are excited to have this legendary race once again start and finish in the heart of Ensenada in front of the Riviera del Pacifico Cultural Center and we look forward to your visits here for pre-running and the race itself to be enjoyable, safe and as always memorable."
     In its first 43 years, the SCORE Baja 1000 has started 36 times in Ensenada, three times in Mexicali (1972, 1993, 1994), twice in Tijuana (1967, 1995) once in Santo Tomas (1998) and once in Ojos Negros (1999). The legendary race has finished in Ensenada 20 times, in La Paz 18 times, in Mexicali two times (1993, 1994), twice in Cabo San Lucas (2000, 2007) and once in Ojos Negros (1999).
     Manufacturers, after-market companies and racers from around the world have followed the call to conquer the Baja and use this historic event as a proving ground for both man and machine. And none in those categories has done it any better than BFGoodrich Tires-24 overall 4-wheel vehicle wins, American Honda motorcycles-21 overall 2-wheel victories, the venerable 72-year-old Rod Hall who has driven a race truck in all 43 races and has an event-record 21 class wins and Southern California’s second-generation desert racer Cameron Steele and his wife Heidi Steele are currently the only husband and wife who each races in the SCORE Baja 1000 in separate classes. From the heart of the South in Tennessee and Virginia, the RPM Offroad Team will have as many as seven entries in this year’s historic race.
     Frank DeAngelo, BFG Tires Motorsports Manager, expounds easily when it comes to this race, commenting, “The Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 is the King of all Desert Races and BFGoodrich is proud to have been a part of this great event for the past 36 years. As the Official Tire of SCORE, BFGoodrich brings more than sponsorship dollars to the series and the event. BFG brings support to the racers with pitting, communications, contingency and tire service and BFG brings support to SCORE by providing support for mapping, GPS, race notes and the assisting with the event media center.
     “I think the course that Sal (Fish) has laid out for this year is going to be great for the competitors. It is easy to access, easy to pre-run and great for pitting. This should allow teams to race the biggest event of the season without breaking the bank to do it.
     “BFGoodrich Tires will be on-site providing five full service pits, radio and satellite communications for any teams racing on BFGoodrich tires. Each BFGoodrich pit will be staffed with mechanics, welders, fabricators, tire changes, gas men, medics and cooks to feed each crew of around 25 people per pit. Combine this type of support with the course Sal has laid out and it is a win-win for competitors.
     “Mexico is very, very special to the BFG brand, and a place where we have had great success winning 24 SCORE Baja 1000 races overall out of the last 25 years. Look at the sidewalls of our All Terrain T/A KO and Mud Terrain T/A MM2 tires. They all say Baja Champions. Baja is our proving grounds and we thank Sal and everyone at SCORE for making the SCORE Baja 1000 the premier event that it is.      American Honda motorcycles are the winningest in the history of the world’s great desert race with 21 overall two-wheel vehicle titles including 14 straight. Leading the factory Honda program in SCORE Baja racing now is the legendary 11-time overall SCORE Baja 1000 winner Johnny Campbell, San Clemente, Calif., and his JCR/Honda race team. Since stepping down as a regular rider, Campbell’s two-team effort has produced the overall 2-wheel winners the last two years.
     “Everything we do, all of our racing all year long, is centered around one thing--to be the best at the SCORE Baja 1000 every year,” said Campbell. “We are always excited for the opportunity to be in Baja. Our main focus every year is anchored by our ultimate goal to finish 1-2 in the SCORE Baja 1000. It takes a tremendous amount of preparation, perseverance, amazing equipment and dedicated pit support to compliment great riders to make it all come together in the toughest race in the universe.      Both riding on identical Honda CRF450X motorcycles, the two JCR/Honda teams are led by riders of record Kendall Norman, Santa Barbara, Calif. and Colton Udall, San Clemente, Calif..
     Hall, of Reno, Nev., is truly a pioneer in the sport and while he may be ‘mostly retired’ from racing as a septuagenarian, the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 remains on his annual racing calendar. Like he did last year, he will be teamed with his sons Josh and Chad in the featured SCORE Trophy-Truck in a Chevy Silverado rally race truck. The elder statesman of Rod Hall racing will also race in the Stock Full class in a Hummer H1, trying to earn double class wins like he did in 2009. Between them, the Halls of a SCORE-record 33 class wins in the SCORE Baja 1000 with Chad having eight and Josh four in addition to Rod Hall’s record 21 class wins.
     “Some people like to say that ‘Rod is older than dirt,’ but I just like to say that I am comfortable in my own skin,” says the affable Rod Hall. “I have learned many life lessons and seen many changes in desert racing through four decades but probably the most import one is that ‘in order to finish first, you must first finish’ and I think I have learned that lesson pretty well. I keep very busy with instructional schools and training seminars along with my other business ventures, but what keeps my blood pumping so hard is just thinking about the SCORE Baja 1000. This race is the most unique, most challenging and most memorable of any desert race in the world and I challenge anyone to go and try it for themselves and see if they don’t end up feeling the same way that I do about this monumental event.”
     Both with class wins in the SCORE Baja 1000, TV sports commentator Cameron Steele expresses his thoughts regarding this amazing race, saying, “Our family races and there is nothing more special than our family heading across the border to participate in a SCORE Baja race. Heidi is working on winning her 4th SCORE championship and I am looking for my second class victory at the SCORE Baja 1000. This race is the most important event on the desert racing calendar and has no equal, in fact if you added all the other desert races together they would fail to amount to a mile of the ‘Mil’ in my opinion. To just race the SCORE Baja 1000 is a honor and it requires much luck to not have Baja get the better of you or your vehicle, if you can race clean then you can be concerned with all the other competitors and try and secure the top spot on the podium.
     “Baja is a magical place filled for us with epic challenges, devastating heartbreak, life changing triumph and the most spectacular miles of land anywhere on the planet. After traveling to places like Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Spain, the UK, Hawaii and others we have seen a bit of the world and know that no where has the convergence of life and challenge that this sliver of land offers to anyone willing to pull up to the start line at the SCORE Baja 1000.
     “When we heard of the general description of this year’s SCORE Baja 1000 course lay out we were excited to know that the battle would take place on the world’s toughest desert racing sections. There is no rougher and tougher challenge than that of the northern Baja but at the same time it allows for easy course recon and cost effective planning. What other course lay out would let you book nights on the Sea of Cortez in San Felipe and on the Pacific Ocean in Ensenada and also mix in stays at the legendary Mikes Sky Rancho.”
     Among the many other committed teams to this year’s race is the RPM Offroad Team of Bristol, Tenn. RPM continues to record impressive results with four entries in Laughlin with three class wins, five entries in San Felipe in March with two more class wins, five entries in Ensenada with three additional class wins and seven entries in San Felipe in September with two more class wins.
     With two lead drivers, Justin Matney, of Bristol, Tenn., leads the 2011 SCORE point standings in both Class 8 in a Chevy Silverado and Class 11 in a Stock VW Sedan while teammate Clyde Stacy, of Bristol, Va., leads Class 4 in a PSD-Chevy and he also is a rookie in SCORE Trophy-Truck. Matney’s father John Matney won the Stock Full class in San Felipe in March to go with Stacy’s Class 4 win. In Ensenada, Matney won both Class 8 and Class 11 while Stacy won again in Class 4. In the recent San Felipe race, Matney won Class 8 and Stacy won Class 4.
     “SCORE Baja racing is our test proving grounds for the numerous aftermarket products we carry in our superstore in Bristol,” said Justin Matney, just 25. “There is nothing like the SCORE Baja 1000 anywhere in the world and we look forward to November when we will have five entries for sure and maybe seven like in San Felipe earlier this month. It’s all that much more research and development.”
    In addition to season class point championships, the racers are also competing for part of the nearly $400,000 in cash purse and contingency postings for the race. Drivers in the Pro car and truck classes are also attempting to earn prestigious SCORE Toyota Milestone Awards given to all Pro car and truck class drivers who complete every required mile of the five-race season. Being presented by Toyota Motorsports for the 26th consecutive year, a total of 27 drivers remain eligible after Round 4 of the 2011 SCORE Desert Series. Racers are also competing for the annual SCORE Off-Roadsman of the Year awards, including the MasterCraft Safety SCORE Rookie of the Year award.

Abrams, WI (Sept 19, 2011)—The Off Road Championship headed to the Route 66 Raceway at Chicagoland Speedway, in Joliet, IL for a rare midweek race on September 14th and 15th. The Wednesday evening race was streamed live on USAC's USTREAM channel while the Thursday race was broadcast live on SPEED TV.

CJ strapped into his Pro Light truck first on Wednesday evening for the under the lights race. CJ found himself in the lead early, but problems by Casey Currie stopped the race. When the green flag flew once again, CJ powered ahead to maintain his lead for the next 4 or 5 laps with RJ Anderson on his bumper in 2nd and Brad Lovell in 3rd feeling pressure from Sam Hubinette. Anderson got a run on CJ and passed him heading into the back stretch. Greaves and Anderson pulled away from the field and CJ wisely backed off to save his truck for the second half of the race. Lovell would eventually role his truck as did Hubinette just as he crossed the start/finish line to take the mandatory caution at the midway point. Andrew Caddell got a great restart and pushed past CJ to take over 2nd. The top 3 ran bumper to bumper until the end of the race. CJ and Caddell went side-by-side but Caddell prevailed. On the white flag lap, Shawn Morris had a vicious role-over bringing out a full-course caution. At first it looked like it would be a green/white restart, but USAC changed it to a yellow/checkered flag—ending the race in the order prior to the caution—RJ Anderson, followed by Caddell, and CJ landing his 3rd podium of the year.
Marty Hart lined up on the 3rd row for the Pro2 race. He was able to push his way up to 3rd when several of the front runners tangled up on the back stretch on the first lap--including Rob MacCachren, Jeff Kincaid and Mikey Vanden Heuvel. Marty worked his way around Chad Hord and set his sights on Bryce Menzies. Bryce slowed on the back stretch with some type of mechanical problem and Marty shot ahead to the lead which he held through the competition caution. With MacCachren and Taylor out of the race and Bryce Menzies limping around, there were only 7 trucks left in the race in the closing laps.
On the restart, Marty held his lead. Meanwhile, Jeff Kincaid passed Hord for 2nd. One lap after the restart, Mike Oberg got into Hord who rolled hard and landed on his roof, bringing out a full-course caution and putting the last of the top 3 points leaders out of the race. When racing resumed, Marty worked hard to stay in the lead, but Jeff Kincaid was able to pass him in the air at the infield tabletop jump. Marty Hart took the checkered flag in 2nd for his highest position of the year.
The Pro-4's were up next. Johnny Greaves came into rounds 11 and 12 clinging to a narrow 15 point lead. With only 4 races left in the 2011 TORC series season, each race put the championship on the line. The points leaders started on the front row with Johnny on the outside and Ricky Johnson on the inside. When the green flag flew, Johnny went to the lead. But, the race was called back by USAC for a false start. This time, RJ beat the field to turn one for the lead followed by Johnny, then Adrian Cennie. The top 3 pulled away from the other trucks but kept a safe distance between each other. On about lap 5, Johnny hit the tabletop jump and landed hard, dislodging his hood. Driving blind, he had to pull into the hot pit for the crew to quickly pull the hood off. At the competition caution, Greaves pulled into the hot pit a second time to remove more dangling Boatec fiberglass from his vision.
On the restart, Mark Jenkins jumped the green flag twice. Once racing finally got underway, Johnny began to work his way back to the front. With 3 laps to go, Johnny squeezed his Monster Energy Toyota between the 3rd and 4th place running Scott Douglas and Steve Barlow to take over 3rd place where he finished the race. Johnny also earned his Oakley Bomb Award for the fastest lap.
The Pro Lights rolled off first on Thursday night with CJ starting his Traxxas/ Monster Energy/ Maxxis/ Oakley/Toyota in the 5th position and moved up one spot before the competition caution. CJ was looking great in the second half of the race. He maneuvered around the 2nd and 3rd place vehicles to battle RJ Anderson for the lead which CJ was able to take with about 4 laps to go in the race. But RJ was able to win it back. With a couple of laps left, CJ made an inside move on Anderson to go for the lead. When he did, he clipped one of the tractor tire barriers and rolled his truck. Fortunately he landed on all-4's. The impact however broke a spindle and he had to limp to the finish line—winding up a disappointing 9th.
In the Pro-2 class, Marty Hart was looking great at the beginning of the race. After having started 6th, he worked his way up into the top 3 leading up to the midway caution. Not willing to settle for 3rd, Marty stuck the nose of his Monster Energy/ ReadyLift/ GearUp2Go.com/ Maxxis Tire and Toyota on the outside of Chad Hord to challenge for 2nd. When he did, he clipped the wall which damaged his steering. He continued on in the race and finished an impressive 5th, despite his ill handling truck.
The Pro-4 race was a classic battle between Johnny and Ricky Johnson—reminiscent of the battles he used to have with fellow Monster Energy racer, Rick Huseman. Johnny confessed he played it a little too safe at first. He lead a good portion of the race but RJ was able to make as pass on Johnny after he, like Marty, developed some steering issues. Johnny took his red plated number 22 to the runner up podium position and maintained his points lead in the process—but by a narrow 4 point margin, setting up a showdown for the championship on the final race weekend at Cycle Ranch in San Antonio, TX.
Greaves racing didn't have any time to rest. They headed to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for the final Sportsman race of the season for CJ in the Super Buggy class. CJ hoped to wrap up his bid for a back-to-back championship in only his second year racing. He did that with flying colors by going 3-for-3 for Traxxas/ Monster Energy/Maxxis/Oakley. He actually clinched the championship by taking the green flag in the 2nd race. The 3 victories were icing on the cake—he finished all but one race on the podium this season—and clinched by a whopping 64 points.
The Traxxas TORC Series will wrap up its season on October 15-16 at Cycle Ranch near San Antonio, Texas. It should prove to be a very exciting weekend with Johnny shooting for another off-road championship to his legendary racing career.

Facing off against the deepest and most talented field ever assembled in the class, McGrath and Naughton have combined for a total of six podiums, including a pair of one-two finishes. McGrath, who has been focused on finding the formula to reach the top of the box, currently holds the fifth spot in the title chase as Naughton, with three wins on the season, is fighting his way through the field in seventh position in the season standings. "We have had some great practice sessions after Glen Helen and had a chance to really put in some good, fast laps," said McGrath. "I think the truck is where it needs to be to run at the front and I'm excited to get in and go racing in Surprise."

San Bernardino, Calif. - September 21, 2011 - USA Sport Motocross is excited to announce the inaugural year of the FMF Power Beverage Western Pro-Am Motocross Series presented by BTO Sports. This new three race series features rounds at Arizona Cycle Park, Freestone County Raceway and Glen Helen Raceway, and gives “A” class riders the chance to earn Pro-Am advancement points and a state championship in Arizona, Texas and California.

Racers will have a chance to win a $3,000 pro-purse at each round, and a $3,000 overall series pro-points fund. All racers are invited to compete in all three rounds for overall series awards from brands like Scott USA, DVS, FMF Racing, and Acerbis. Racers may also choose to race individual rounds to compete for awards at each track.

CMMC Open Practice this weekend - Barona Oaks Raceway

Barona Oaks will have an open practice on the weekend of September 3rd and 4th. All 3 tracks will be open from 9:00 - 3:00. CMMC's next race weekend will be on Sept 17th and 18th this will be our last race of the 2011 Summer Series.

The CMMC board would like to give everyone an update on the status of CMMC and Barona Oaks. CMMC is not leaving and Barona Oaks Raceway is not closing! We are entering the slow part of our season and feel that we need to postpone Wednesday and Friday practices for the remainder of the 2011 year. Weekday practices during this time are not busy enough to support us being open. Our CMMC race weekends have to pick up the slack and we would like to reserve these funds for the CMMC 2011 banquet, start ups cost for 2012 and any other unexpected costs. Moving forward into the New Year we will once again open the facility for weekday practice, until then we will be scheduling some weekend practices a couple weekends a month to keep everyone connected to the track. Please give us your input and support we want to keep Barona Oaks your local track!

As for the main track we are will be doing some changes this coming week. Barona Oaks has had some equipment availability problems but a CMMC club member came thru with a dozer at a good price that will allow us to move forward.

MX Sports Pro Racing Announces American Motocross Season Celebration

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - One day after the checkered flag falls at the Traxxas Pala National on September 10, bringing the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship to a close, the celebration will continue on Sunday evening. MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports, will host the third annual American Motocross Season Celebration from Pechanga Resort & Casino, in Temecula, Calif., celebrating this summer's champions, and the many moments that made 2011 one of the most memorable seasons in history. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. PST.

On Sunday, September 11, the teams and riders of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship and the AMA ATV Motocross Championship by DWT, along with many members of the motocross industry, will gather to honor the title winners in the 450 Class, 250 Class, WMX Class and Pro ATV Class. The festivities will be emceed by SPEED and NBC host Jason Weigandt, along with trackside public address announcer Tim Cotter. The two respective voices of American Motocross will take a look back at all each round of the two- and four-wheeled motocross championships, and the highlights that shaped how the titles unfolded in each division.

Headlining the several awards that will be handed out that evening are the coveted Edison Dye Motocross Cup, for the 450 Class, the Gary Jones Motocross Cup, for the 250 Class, and the Gary Denton Motocross Cup, for Pro ATV - with each trophy being awarded to the rider and team that claimed each respective championship. Additionally, the Women's Motocross Cup will be presented to the rider and team that captured the WMX Class title.

All four of the respective 2011 champions will have their chance in the spotlight, receiving their own trophy and distinguished medal, commemorating their achievement, and serving as the ideal complement to the exclusive number one plates that will adorn their bikes the following season. MX Sports Pro Racing will also recognize the 2011 Sportsman of the Year, which is given to the rider that exhibited the determination and class often identified with the most renowned names in the sport, as well as hand out Rookie of the Year accolades to the top first-year rider in each class.

Moreover, the Team Manager of the Year, Motocross Team of the Year, and Transport Driver of the Year will give credit to people behind the scenes of American Motocross. These are the individuals that make it possible for the world's best riders, and a nation full of avid motocross fans, to enjoy a premier global competition in one of the toughest sports on the planet.

Prior to the festivities on Sunday evening, the Road 2 Recovery Golf Tournament will take place from the Temecula Creek Inn Golf Course. The biggest names in American Motocross will hit the links, with friends and teammates, to enjoy some friendly golf competition and have some fun away from the track.

Emme Hall and Father Prepare to Compete in the MORE Powder Puff, Benefiting Cedars-Sinai

Washington, D.C., Aug. 22, 2011 – Emme Hall, campaigning a Class 5 Unlimited “Trophy Bug”, will join women from around the country to raise money for breast cancer research as part of MORE’s Royal Purple Synthetic Oil’s 6th Annual Powder Puff Race for the Cure October 7-8 in Barstow, CA.

Each year the event raises more than $100,000 to support the Cedars-Sinai Breast Cancer Research Center. Race organizers expect more than 75 teams and 25,000 spectators. Competitors run the gamut from first-time drivers to professional racers with many podium finishes in both national and international races. The only requirement is that drivers and co-drivers be female.

“Don’t let the term Powder Puff fool you,” said driver Emme Hall. “These ladies drive just as aggressively as the men. We got fourth in class in 2009, second in class last year and I’m gunning for first this year.”

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women after skin cancer. Today, approximately 1 in 8 women (12%) will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death in women after lung cancer -- and is the leading cause of cancer death among women ages 35 to 54. In 2010, an estimated 207,090 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed, along with 54,010 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer. About 39,840 women were expected to die in 2010 from breast cancer. Although these numbers may sound frightening, as of 2010 there were over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

The American Cancer Society reports that only 5% to 10% of breast cancers occur in women with a clearly defined genetic predisposition for the disease. The majority of breast cancer cases are "sporadic," meaning there is no direct family history of the disease. The risk for developing breast cancer increases as a woman ages.

Mike Shatynski of Whittier CA was our very first subscriber to take part in our online EZ renewal plan. We just launched this new renewal plan today and within minutes of receiving his online renewal notice his wife Valorie processed their renewal.

Mike raced with Sugar Racing at this year's running of the SCORE Baja 500. He was also featured in our July 2010 Celebrate America feature as an honored veteran of the United States Navy as well as a successful off road racer. Mike attained the status of Rear Admiral through his long and storied service in the military and he puts the same effort into his off road racing efforts.
